Transforming pathology and symptoms into internal resources and self-leading leadership
We all know what it is to feel contradictory emotions-“part of me…wants to.””When we work on our inner self, our desires, our actions.
Think about the emotional family of Pixar’s movie”Inside Out.”Emotional family, joy, sadness, fear, disgust and anger all interacted in the mind of Riley Anderson, shaping her reactions and memories.
Now you are thinking along the lines of ifs-in-family system therapy.
Most modes of psychotherapy believe that the “part” ispathological. Not IFS. In the IFS, the idea of diversity in the mind is normal.Every part has good intentions and every part has value. All clients can heal themselves if they hear their part. IFS is a very powerful tool for clinicians. When you check the operation, you will be hooked! And you will immediately want to incorporate it into your practice.
When I was developing the IFS 30 years ago, creator Richard Schwartz realized that his clients described their experiences in different parts of the world.
When these parts felt safe and addressed their concerns, there was less confusion. In the development of IFS, he realized that, like the systematic family theory, the parts play a characteristic role in helping to define the inner world of the client.
Today, IFS has established a legacy of effectiveness in treating many mental health issues effectively, and has pioneered it as a treatment that all clinicians should know about in order to treat their clients effectively(van der Kolk 2015).
Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, an IFS and trauma expert, and Dr. Frank Anderson, a colleague of Dr. Richard Schwartz, will participate in this transformational training day and learn all that IFS therapy can do for you and your clients!
Like Dr. Anderson, after integrating the IFS into your work, you change your practice. The client makes your office feel healed, with skills that will help you master their emotions using them outside the treatment room.
This special training includes hands-on exercises, meditation, and video demonstrations. You will remain transformed!
This special training will include experiential exercise, meditation and video demonstration. You will leave transformed!
