The Robinson Home School Curriculum by Dr. Arthur Robinson
Description
The Robinson curriculum was created by Dr. Arthur Robinson, who is a home scientist and owner / president of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine. When his wife died, Dr. Robinson wished to create a self-study program for his children that would focus on the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic (Method 3-R) without the unnecessary additional information that is taught in most schools and most homes today. all over the country.
Dr. Robinson’s methods and ideas are simple but not original and can be traced back to the turn of the century. He opened many minds to seek college education — a time-tested, proven method using old books and the important fact that it didn’t take much money to educate his children. With modern technology, you can access almost everything you need, from the internet to Robinson Home School. Dr. Robinson started with a quality home library. Having readily available resources for research, a growing mind is always important in every household.
Basic RC training method or course:
1. Reading quality books
2. Writing one essay per day
3. Mathematics (RC offers to buy Saxon, but not earlier than 54 years old. It does not contain any mathematics other than cards)
The RC training course is what is called self-study and the famous 3-R. he says that all other subjects should be studied in an essay or reading part of your schedule. He does not discourage other subjects, but says that if your state does not require this, then you should pay attention only to additional educational activities.
The Robinson Home School curriculum includes:
Course of Study:
Dr.Art Robinson’s 120-page discourse that discusses all aspects of how you set up and run a self-learning home school using this curriculum, which also incorporates the experiences of many families who have found it most effective in their own homes. 12 sections in total:

This is a very important reading … and rereading. It takes a concentrated effort to take a different path for our children and deprogram ourselves from the institutional model of dependent learning.

More information on self-help:
Self-help, or self-improvement, is self-directed improvement — economic, intellectual, or emotional — often with a substantial psychological foundation.
There are many different group Self-Help programs, each with its own focus, methods, associated beliefs, supporters and, in some cases, leaders.
Concepts and terms stemming from the Self-Help culture and the twelve-step culture, such as recovery, dysfunctional families, and codependency, have become firmly established in mainstream language.
Self-help often uses publicly available information or support groups, both online and in person, where people in similar situations come together.
Since the early examples of independent legal practice and home counseling, the connotations of the word have spread and are often applied in particular to education, business,
psychology and psychotherapy, usually disseminated through the popular genre of self-help books.
According to the APA Psychology Dictionary, potential benefits of self-help groups that professionals may not be able to provide include friendship,
emotional support, experiential knowledge, identity, meaningful roles, and a sense of belonging.
