Radical General Semantics by Gad Horowitz
DESCRIPTION
“Radical General Semantics” is divided into seven parts, first of all, it re-examines the dynamic-structural differences of Korcsky’s general semantics. The second part introduces “silent practice” (note the sensory experience) as part of a more informed assessment process. Silent practice precedes “general semantic equipment” (Part III) because it is a skill that promotes the “second psychological delay score” expected by the equipment. In the fourth part, “self” and free will, structural differentiation provides a multi-layered mapping of one’s self inwards, where the self is three: event self, object self, and label self.
In the fifth part “Politics”, general semantic means and expressions are applied to various issues such as President Obama’s “You not’t Build That” speech, the far left “Tiqqun” group and the Canadian monarchy, etc. on.
The meta model is deliberately late (Part 6). Here, Gad developed the meta-model as a practice in neural language programming (NLP), returning to the place where it originated from general semantics. Part VII Participation: Myth Art Religion brings together some radical general semantics and music, photography, phenomenology, film theory concepts, writing, mythology and religion research.
Although most of the work was written by Gad Horowitz, Colin Campbell contributed many very rich chapters, especially in Part VII.
